A prayer vigil for Hickory Ridge Homecoming Queen Faith Shaw, who passed away Tuesday from complications of cystic fibrosis at age 18, will begin at 5 p.m. today, Friday, November 15, at the high school.
The vigil is being organized by Faith’s friends, and the public is encouraged to attend.
“We are incredibly touched that Faith’s friends have planned a candlelight vigil in her memory,” Faith’s family posted on her Facebook page, Lungs4Faith. “The public is welcome to attend, and we would love for everyone who can make it to be there.”
The vigil will be held near the boulder at Hickory Ridge High School that now features a pair of painted golden wings and a halo, along with the words “Fly High Faith” in purple.
Faith was born with cystic fibrosis, a progressive, genetic disease that affects the lungs. She received a double-lung transplant in January, and was put back on the transplant list at the time of her passing.
The family will announce services for Faith on their Lungs4Faith Facebook page.
